Story slam
📍 Manuka Room, RACV Cape Schanck
Stories have the power to build community, cultivate empathy and shift perspectives. Engage in the ancient practise of oral storytelling by sharing a story relating to the theme of ‘Courage’ in this intimate and welcoming storytelling session. The word ‘courage’ comes from the Latin cor, meaning ‘heart’. We invite you to interpret the theme in any way you like and to share a story about a time you had to listen to your heart over your head. Maybe you have a story about taking a leap of faith, standing up for what was right or confronting a mentally or physically daunting situation in your personal or professional life. The only guidelines are that the story must be true, and that you have five minutes to tell it (without notes). You are also more than welcome to attend as an audience member and simply soak up the stories being told. This event will be facilitated by local writer Jane Hone.
